My Qualifications

I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2001. Prior to my employment with Kaiser Permanente, I was an assistant professor and attending physician for 4 years at Henan Medical University Teaching Hospital in China. I am also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

My Healthcare Practice

I am a family physician. Currently, I am dividing my time between Urgent Care and Hospital Medicine. I enjoy working with people who have different needs in health care. Family medicine can provide continuous care to a patient. I can coordinate with all the specialties to meet the differing needs of my patients. As a physician, I gain much satisfaction in reducing a patient's pain and suffering. Everytime I am able to assist one patient during his/her illness, I feel I have done a good job and made contritutions to the world. I enjoy my job. I chose medicine because I feel I can help people when they need it. I can not save everyone, but I can help reduce patients' pain and suffering both physically and emotionally. Making the right diagnosis for a complicated patient is like putting a puzzle together which gives me great satisfaction.

Besides English, I speak fluent Chinese.

Receiving Your Healthcare From Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser Permanente has all the specialties a patient will need. Whenever a patient needs a subspecialty consultation, I can arrange it within Kaiser Permanente. It saves members time and effort to receive their care from one place. Another great benefit for Kaiser Permanente members is that they can receive medical care without worrying about doctors' bills.

My Outside Interests

During my leisure time, I enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking, and I volunteer at an indigent clinic once a month.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
