My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I chose family practice medicine because I enjoy being a family doctor. It allows me to be involved with all aspects of health: acute, chronic, young, old, men and women.

My Practice Philosophy

I believe if you are educated about a certain health condition, you may do something about it. But sometimes, you need that extra encouragement to actually keep doing it right. Often, I find myself being like a coach, guiding you on the sideline of your health playing field. When you win, I cheer for you. When you don’t, I am there to guide you back on track.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA
Residency Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Riverside, CA
Board certification Family Medicine, American Board of Family Medicine

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I received my BS degree from UC Irvine in 1991, and then completed my master’s degree at UCLA School of Public Health. My preclinical medical training was completed at Temple University in Philadelphia, prior to transferring to USC to complete the clinical years. After receiving my MD degree in 1997, I trained in Family Practice at Kaiser Riverside then joined on staff in 2000. In 1/2007, my wife and I decided to relocate to a quiet little town, Roseville, perfect for raising our children.

Why I like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser is a group of great doctors, nurses, and supporting staff. It is truly my privilege to work alongside them.

On a Personal Note. . .

I was born and raised in Taiwan. My family immigrated to this great country when I was 13. I met my wife in college. We dated 10 years before tying the knot. Good things happen to those who wait. We were blessed with 2 beautiful children. They love going to the parks and tell the funniest “knock-knock” jokes in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
