My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a pediatrician which means I take care of the health needs of children beginning from the minute they come into the world thru adolescence. I chose this field because I enjoy being around children and encouraging families on ways to stay healthy, educating them on common and uncommon illness and providing information for disease prevention. I consider it an honor to help parents and their children to make healthy choices so that they can live long, happy and productive lives.

My Practice Philosophy

The foundation of my practice comes from my belief that every person is unique and has value. I make an effort to listen carefully to each patient and caregiver and I create a health plan that fits each individual patient. This approach is what makes the practice of medicine new and exciting each day.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been working with Kaiser Permanente since 1992. I originally started in the Department of Pediatrics in Stockton and have now joined the Department of Pediatrics at Kaiser Point West.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente because I wanted to be part of a healthcare team that had the latest and most efficient medical practices with an emphasis on prevention and quality. Kaiser provides me with the ability to provide a high quality of care because of the advanced equipment that allows me to access past and present medical information quickly in addition to the large group of colleagues that are always willing to share their expertise. There is no place I would rather be.

My Professional Interests and Affiliations

American Academy of Pediatrics; Capital Medical Society; Sierra Valley Medical Society

On a Personal Note…

When I am not at work I am spending time with my wonderful husband and 3 wonderful children. Some of that time involves being "Taxi Mom" for multiple sports events (soccer, basketball) and music lessons (piano, trumpet, and guitar). The rest of the time is spent having fun laughing and enjoying things such as going to the drive-in and going on family trips.

My personal interests include sewing, doing puzzles and playing tennis. I have also played classical piano since my early childhood but have recently started learning to play jazz and contemporary Christian music which has been really fun.
