My Profession and Why I Chose It

I have enjoyed the specialty of anesthesia for over twenty years. Many of our patients are understandably anxious about having surgery. Reassuring patients in the pre-operative area and encouraging them in the post-operative area are some of the most satisfying parts of my practice.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Tennessee School of Medicine, Memphis, TN
Internship University of Southern California School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Board certification Anesthesiology, American Board of Anesthesiology

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I am pleased to be part of our well-trained anesthesia staff. Our primary concern is our patients and providing them a safe anesthetic.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permamente

I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1981.

My Outside Interests

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, exercise, and travel. I also like to play volleyball and softball. Recently, my daughter and her husband had a baby boy. I am really enjoying our first grandchild. We visit them frequently. Who knew babies could be so fun?

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
