About Me

Hello and welcome to my internet home page. I hope this gives you a chance to learn more about me as a physician and as a person.

I was born in Taipei, Taiwan and moved to Southern California with my family when I was a young child. I attended Brown University, where I received a degree in political science. After college, my attention was directed towards my pursuit and training to become a surgeon.

I have always considered myself a people person. I went into medicine because I enjoy the personal interactions with patients, and more importantly, I believe a physician's work can make a difference in people's lives.

I joined Kaiser Permanente because I am convinced that patients benefit greatly in a multi-specialty setting where comprehensive care can be provided in a coordinated team approach. In addition, the Kaiser Permanente system allows physicians to provide the most appropriate care for patients without any ethical dilemma or cost-saving issues.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time on the golf course. I speak fluent Mandarin Chinese.

I hope this is a helpful introduction. I look forward to learning more about you.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
