My Qualifications

I have been a Neurologist with Kaiser Permanente since July, 1999 and prior to that I had been in practice in the Philadelphia area for two years. I chose to become a Kaiser Permanente Neurologist because I can focus 100% of my time on patient care without having to worry about obtaining permission or insurance approval to order a particular test or prescribe a particular medication or treatment modality. I work in a very collegial environment in which I can easily obtain expert opinions from both specialists in my group and specialists in other fields of medicine if the need arises.

I am an active member of the Sacramento Medical Society and the American Academy of Neurology.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Rochester, School of Medicine & Dentistry, Rochester, NY
Residency Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania C/o Univ of Pennsylvania Health System, Philadelphia, PA
Fellowship Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania C/o Univ of Pennsylvania Health System, Philadelphia, PA
Board certification Neurology, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

My Healthcare Practice

I’m a general neurologist and have a special interest in peripheral nervous system disorders. These include nerve and muscle problems, such as peripheral neuropathies, disorders which affect how nerves communicate with muscles, and muscle disorders themselves.

I chose to enter the field of Neurology because of the intellectual challenge required to diagnose and treat neurological disorders. In addition, because many neurological conditions are chronic, I have the opportunity to get to know not only the patient’s condition but also the patient him/herself as a unique person. Getting to know a patient over time affords me the opportunity to better individualize my care and hopefully make a positive difference in his/her life.

My Outside Interests

When I’m not practicing medicine, I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my wife and two sons.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
