About Me

I chose social work as my profession because I wanted to make a difference by working with families with ill children. It is a wonderful privilege to work with pediatric patients and their families. As a medical social worker, I provide emotional support and community resources to patients and their families. I have an affinity for what families with seriously ill children go through because my family has gone through the same thing.

What I enjoy most about my practice is seeing children getting better, seeing them smile and being normal children. I also like working with my wonderful colleagues at the hospital. We have a family environment for the employees and we try to duplicate that for the families with children in the hospital here so they know that we care about them.

I am particularly interested in pediatric oncology. I completed an internship in Adolescent Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco, and an NICU internship at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco. One of the best aspects of practicing at Kaiser Permanente is that most of the time I am able to call people up and get things done quickly. I partner with other Kaiser Permanente hospitals to share expertise when needed.

I enjoy spending time with my family and going for walks with my dog. I thrive by trying to remember to take deep breaths.
