My Specialty and Why I Chose It
I am an Emergency Physician. This means that I take care of patients presenting to the Emergency Department. I decided to do this because I like to be able to take care of a wide variety of patients and problems whether that is a heart attack or a urinary tract infection.
My Practice Philosophy
I like the challenge of connecting with people in the short amount of time that I am given in the Emergency Department. I try to get to know my patients beyond the scope of my practice. I also attempt to put my patients at ease about what is happening to them in a sometimes very busy and intimidating Emergency Department.
My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente
I have been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 2006. I have come to appreciate how Kaiser truly tries to put patients first. That may be by the availability of communication with physicians, the ease of refilling a prescription or getting advice from the call center etc.
Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente
I very much value my colleagues and co-workers at Kaiser Permanente. I learn from them everyday. I also like the availability of different hospital services and the team approach in the Emergency Department which makes my job a lot easier. I appreciate the educational opportunities at Kaiser and the technological resources that are available to me on a daily basis.

On a Personal Note
I have been married to my husband since 2005. He is also an Emergency Medicine physician which makes for a crazy schedule for both of us. In March of 2007 we added a little baby boy to our busy lifestyle. Our son grounds us and I believe he made us into better and more compassionate ER physicians.
The rest of my family lives in Germany. The fact that they live so far away makes us appreciate each other even more when we do get together. I do miss having them around though.
Thank you for your interest and taking the time to learn more about me and my department. Please do not hesitate to give me a call if you have any questions about your care or if any of your concerns and needs were not addressed.
