Welcome to my home page where you can get to know me and be provided with high-quality health information.

My Qualifications
I am a member of the AOA Medical Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics. I was Chief Resident in Pediatrics at the University of California Davis, and have practiced general pediatrics since 1998. I joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in 2003.

My Healthcare Practice
I chose pediatrics because working with children gives me the opportunity to help them form healthy lifestyle habits that will last a lifetime. Aside from that, I love working with kids. As part of Kaiser Permanente, I am able to offer preventative care and wellness education. A healthy diet, physical activity and immunizations are all important to keep your child healthy; these tools will be emphasized at your child's visits with me. If the need arises, I also have a team of outstanding subspecialists available. In addition to well care, I enjoy newborn medicine and working with children with asthma. To view the well child care check-up schedule please click here: Well Care Schedule I will be glad to go over your list of questions about your child at your child's well care visit.

My Biography
I was born and raised in the midwest. After attending the University of Kansas (go Jayhawks!) my husband and I ventured out to sunny California for our residency training, where we promptly fell in love with the weather, mountains and ocean. Once residency was completed, I traveled to the Amazon in Brazil to provide pediatric care to the indigent. I then returned to Kansas to practice in a medically underserved area for four years. This was a great experience, but at the end of 4 years, California was calling. My husband and I, now with two rambunctious boys, returned to Sacramento, and I began to practice pediatrics with Kaiser Permanente. I love to spend time outside, hiking, running, and exploring with my family. Because of the interests and enthusiasm of my sons, I am now an "expert" on superheroes and playgounds.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
