About Me

My introduction to the field of nursing occurred on a mountaintop during a ski trip. I had always been interested in science, and majored in Biology in college. However I wasn't certain where to focus my energies for a career. The answer came suddenly in the form of my ski partner who said that as a nurse she was able to combine a satisfying career with a love of outdoor adventure. She could work where and when she wanted! I wasted no time in applying to nursing school. After working for fifteen years in a hospital intensive care setting, I set my sights on a career that could help people maintain their health before needing admission to a hospital. My second career within nursing as a nurse practitioner, was born.

Those early days of unlimited freedom are past, but in its place I have developed a love for a profession which allows me to interact with many types of people, challenge myself to offer the best care possible, and help my patients to achieve their goals of wellness and well-being.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
