THRIVE: A Healthy You ...Click here to get connected and learn how to live healthier every day.

About Me

I chose a career in Medicine because it combined my love of science and a desire to connect with and help others in matters important to their daily lives. I have been rewarded throughout my career by having the privilege to learn about my patients' lives – their bravery, humor, wisdom, and foibles. It is immensely reassuring to hear daily how we all share the same human needs, have the same trials and tribulations and joys.

My undergraduate training was at the University of California at Berkeley. I received an A.B. in Neurobiology. After doing some graduate coursework at Stanford University, I went on to complete my medical training.

I have also served as a clinician and administrator of our Young Adult Clinic which is specially designed to meet the needs of our members ages 18-26. We have a preventive and proactive approach to the health care of our patients, and provide a comprehensive clinic that includes attention to women's health issues.

Currently, I am the Lead Physician for Kaiser Permanente's "KP HealthConnect Online" in Northern California, which provides internet services for our members like "email your doctor" and the ability to view portions of your electronic medical record. When not at work or online, I can most often be found with my young children at the park.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
