Dr. Sam was born in San Francisco and moved to the East Coast where he graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He received his medical degree from Howard University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at LAC-USC (Los Angeles County-University of Southern California) Medical Center.

He began working for Kaiser Permanente in October of 1989 at the Milpitas facility and moved to the Santa Clara facility in January of 1997.

Dr. Sam has an outpatient clinical practice, works as a Hospital Based Specialist and performs flexible sigmoidoscopies in the Department of Gastroenterology. He became Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program in March 2004 and is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Dr. Sam's hobbies include building computers and playing tennis.

Dr. Sam's goal is to help you be as healthy as you can be. He hopes to have a special relationship with each of his patients and welcomes any feedback or concerns you may have.
