My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a pediatrician. This means I take care of children from birth until they turn 18 years old. I decided to become a pediatrician because I love working and caring for children. I also feel the importance to educate families about their children's illnesses and to provide them with anticipatory guidance to help prevent avoidable accidents.

My Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy includes being able to relate to my patients and their needs, communicating and educating them and their families about their illness and practicing evidenced-based medicine to best serve and treat them.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I've been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 2006. Over this time I've really come to appreciate the dedication my fellow pediatric colleagues provide to their patients and the warmth and trust that I receive from my patients.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I like practicing medicine at Kaiser Permanente because it gives me the freedom to practice medicine the way I see fit and it allows me to have the support that I may need from sub-specialists. Kaiser Permanente also focuses on quality of care to patients and education for their doctors.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

I am particularly interested in patients with asthma. I would like to be able to manage their asthma so that they can feel healthy like the other children they play with.

On a Personal Note. . .

I grew up in Malaysia and spent a lot of my teenage years helping my father in his medical office. I've traveled and lived in many countries. This has allowed me to appreciate different cultures. Ever since I was about 10 years old I realized that my calling was to become a doctor and to follow into my father’s footsteps and help people get and feel better. I am very glad that I chose my field of pediatrics because I think it is very important to protect and heal children and to guide them as they are our future.
