About Me

My parents came to New Jersey from India when I was seven years old to pursue the American dream for their kids. We grew up for a couple of years in Hoboken, New Jersey (home of the first baseball game ever played) and then mostly in San Francisco (go 49ers and Giants!). I have fond memories from Lowell High School in San Francisco where I graduated from in 1988. My four years at University of California, Berkeley were very informative and gave a lifetime of memories (Go Bears!). I was a Molecular Cell Biology major (emphasis Cell Biology), but enjoyed delving into the humanities and social sciences there. I took a year to do research before moving on to work on a Master's degree at the University of Health Sciences, The Chicago Medical School in 1993.

I started medical school in 1994 and did a couple of years of physiology research on a thesis during medical school and graduated in 2000. Family practice excited me during medical school because you got to know people over a long time and you took care of them as a whole instead of in parts. I finished a 3-year residency at Resurrection Medical Center, Chicago, IL in 2003. That was an exciting period not only because of what I learned but because I got married to a lovely lady in 2001. My parents convinced us to come back to Northern California to stay with them in 2003 and we all moved down to Manteca where I joined The Permanente Medical Group in Manteca in July of 2003. I am enjoying every minute of my time with Kaiser Permanente!

Philosophy of Care

"The family that eats, stays, and plays together, stays together." Having a strong family unit that is supportive and inculcating strong family values in their children are the most important gifts parents can give to the community. It makes the whole family so powerful and healthy both physically and emotionally. I am here for you to keep your family strong and healthy.

My Personal and Clinical Interests

Hobbies: I love traveling to India, Europe, and within California with my wife and family. I love playing and watching basketball, volleyball, and baseball. I enjoy Eastern and Western film and music. I enjoy doing Big Brother activities such as setting up basketball leagues and SAT classes for teens.

Clinical Interests: Behavioral health issues, sports medicine and musculoskeletal medicine with injections, along with hospital-based and geriatric medicine.

Select a personal physician - An important part of your health care experience at Kaiser Permanente includes building a relationship with your personal physician. If you haven't already selected one or want to change, click here to choose a personal physician for yourself or for a family member.
