About Me
I was born in Los Angeles and resided in the L.A. area until completing medical school at UCLA. I lived in Phoenix and then Miami for a time as part of my medical education, but always looked forward to returning to the West Coast. In 1989, I joined the Kaiser Oakland Department of Ophthalmology, and have been practicing here for 15 years. I am proud to work for Kaiser. It provides the resources and encouragement to practice medicine in a technologically current but personal fashion. It also allows the flexibility to combine career and family. My husband and I have a six-year-old son. (Both my husband and son were born at Kaiser Walnut Creek!) My free time is largely filled with family-oriented activities. I try to fit in some exercise classes, and enjoy baking when time allows.
My Practice
I am a member of the department of Ophthalmology with a subspecialty in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (also known as Oculoplastic surgery). This specialty focuses on the care of the eyelids, the eye socket (orbit), and tear drainage system (link to Common Oculoplastic Conditions - below). Appointments are made through referral from your ophthalmologist.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
