Welcome to My Home Page !
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1988, soon after completing my fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. I received my medical degree from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines. I did my Internship and Residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael (a major Yale affiliate) in New Haven, Connecticut. I completed my endocrine subspecialty training at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in southern California. During my subspecialty training, I was the chief resident in the division of endocrinology. I was also involved in clinical research involving glucose toxicity and Type 2 DM at the Clinical Studies Center at Harbor-UCLA.
I am board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism.
My husband is also a physician who specializes in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Fortunately, we have been blessed with two children who keep us grounded. Our home is full and busy with a lovable “German-Labrador” and a somewhat neurotic bearded dragon. I love music and I am an avid reader of philosophy, religion and the occasional spy thriller.
I consider it to be both a blessing and a privilege to be in this profession. I love what I do and my practice philosophy is to engage my patients in a true partnership towards their good health.
As your endocrinologist, I will assist your personal physician with your medical needs while working closely with your health care team. I believe that Kaiser Permanente’s team approach is the key to giving you high quality care and service. I will have access to your medical history and can consult with your personal physician and other specialists about your condition.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
