About Me

Welcome to my practice. I would like to take a moment and share with you my background, training and philosophy for healthy living. I grew up in the land of Aloha on the island of Oahu. I came to California for my medical residency at UCSF/Mt. Zion and finished in 1993, and I was in private practice in Alameda for 5 years before joining Kaiser Oakland in 2002. With my experience in the private sector, I can say with confidence that Kaiser Permanente is indeed on the cutting edge of medicine and offers its subscribers the best care possible. This has made the last two years of my medical practice very exciting and rewarding. The cohesiveness and collaborative efforts of Physicians here at Kaiser is stimulating both from an intellectual and personal level and I hope to have a long and productive career here.

My philosophy for healthy living is very simple: Exercise, a good diet, and a positive attitude are key ingredients for preventing the majority of modern lifestyle diseases. Health care maintenance and preventative screening tests are important in detecting early treatable diseases while emphasizing healthy lifestyle choices.

My Credentials

Medical school John A Burns School of Medicine University of Hawaii, Honolulu, HI
Residency UC San Francisco Mount Zion Medical Center, San Francisco, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
