About Me

I was born at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Oakland, and raised in the Bay Area. I received my undergraduate degree at U.C. Berkeley and completed my medical degree at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. I then returned to Northern California for residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at U.C. Davis Medical Center. I became part of Kaiser Permanente in 2004 after serving four years on active duty as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, I was deployed into Iraq as part of a front-line mobile surgical team, supporting the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force during the march to Baghdad.

My Credentials

Medical school Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA
Internship UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Board certification Orthopedic Surgery, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery

My Practice Philosophy

Injuries and other painful conditions of the bones and joints can have a significant negative impact on your activities of daily living and your overall quality of life. My role as your orthopaedic surgeon is to form a partnership with you in order to help decrease or eliminate your pain, and improve or restore your physical function. This partnership will be based on open lines of communication, and patient education. I will listen to your concerns, educate you about your diagnosis, and explain the rationale for any tests that may be needed. Together, you and I will examine the available treatment options, and develop an appropriate treatment plan for your condition.

I am very happy to be back living and working in the Sacramento valley. I enjoy skiing, golf, cooking, and spending time with my family.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
