My Philosophy
"It is my greatest hope that as your child's health advocate, together we can actively nurture our children into healthy, independent, confident young adults."
About Me
I knew I wanted to be a doctor at the young age of 15. After high school, I lived on the "pre-med" floor in the dorms at the University of California, Davis. There, I graduated Summa Cum Laude in Food Science and Technology – combining my passion for nutrition while simultaneously completing all my medical school requirements. From there, I ventured down to the University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine, where I received my medical degree. I then moved out of state to complete my residency in Pediatrics at the University of Nevada, School of Medicine. After, I started working in a small private practice in Las Vegas in both the hospital and office setting and loved the continuity of care I established with my patients and their families. I returned to California in 2005 and started working for Kaiser Permanente in Tracy. I really enjoyed working there but recently decided to transfer to the Antioch facility so I could be closer to my family. Being that I was born and raised in the East Bay, I am very excited to be part of the Diablo Service Area!
As a pediatrician, I take great pride in guiding children and their families towards healthy ways of living. Perhaps as an inheritance from my mother who was an elementary school teacher before I was born and from my personal experience with these issues, I particularly enjoy teaching patients about chronic diseases like asthma, obesity and weight management and preventive medicine. Being a Kaiser Permanente member myself since I was a child getting regular visits for my asthma and allergy follow-up, I am very familiar with the system and am especially impressed with its focus on preventative care.
Personal Interests
In my leisure time, besides being with my husband who is a personal athletic trainer, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, hiking, traveling, reading and watching movies. I am fluent in English and basic medical Spanish.
Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
