About Me

I am originally from Los Angeles, and completed my medical school training at the University of Southern California. And yes, I am a fan. Go Trojans! I am new to the Bay area, and I’m really excited about living here. Undertaking my residency training here at Kaiser Oakland is also pretty exciting. Besides being an impressive model of health care delivery, I think Kaiser Oakland offers the kind of medical setting that I desire: one in which community health and wellness are forefront, and where a commitment to providing the best care to an amazingly wide range of people is more than possible.

I am very happy to be a part of the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Womens’ health has been important to me since the age of 7. When I was little my father was a pharmaceutical salesman who worked only with Ob/Gyn doctors. Consequently, my garage was overflowing with boxes and boxes of sample medications. So it’s not hard to understand why a 7 year-old girl with a nose for trouble would be fascinated with the birth control packs that she found while snooping around! Since then, I’ve come to appreciate the field as one in which doctors establish lifelong and intimate relationships with patients as they address some of the most special and terrifying events of a woman’s life. Over the years, I’ve developed a special interest in obstetrics and gynecology as it pertains to adolescent women. The need for attentive, considerate and understanding care for this population is so important, and can potentially affect a young life in ways beyond our imaginations. For these and many other reasons, I look forward to providing health care for the patients at Kaiser Oakland.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
