Welcome….

While no one ever wants to be in the Emergency Room, as a patient or to accompany a loved one, I would like to welcome you and assure you that I and our Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Center Emergency Room team will do everything we can to help you.

Educational Background and Choice of KP....

I went to college and studied Biochemistry at Notre Dame and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. I completed my residency in Emergency Medicine at Butterworth Hospital, a Michigan State's program in Grand Rapids, MI. I have practiced full time Emergency Medicine in the Bay Area and Central Valley for the last 24 years. I joined Kaiser Permanente full time this year. My family and I became Kaiser Permanente members in 2004, while I was working else where. I was so impressed with the care we received that I chose to become a Kaiser Permanente physician.

Personal Stuff.....

I was born in York, Pennsylvania in 1952 and lived there until I left for college. I moved to the Bay Area in 1981 and have lived in Northern California ever since. I also enjoy swimming, gardening, reading, construction work, and twiddling around with my computer.

Philosophy of Care.....

I love being an Emergency Room doc. I like to work quickly, figure things out as much as possible on the first visit, and do everything I can to help you solve your acute problem. I enjoy helping to relief the stress and fear of being in what can be a scary situation. I truly believe that emergency care is one of the specialties in which traditional "Western" medicine really shines. We can do a lot to help you, and I like that. I have been a patient at Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Center Emergency Room, and the wonderful care I received inspires me in the treatment of my patients.

I look forward to meeting you and caring for you and your family when a medical emergency brings you to our hospital.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
