About Me

My name is Craig Hilton, and I have the privilege of working as a hospital-based pediatrician at the Oakland Kaiser facility. My principle duties are to provide care to infants that are admitted to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I use the word privilege because I receive a great deal of personal satisfaction in being an important part of the neonatal team that helps our smallest patients at a critical time in their life. I use the word privilege because my team members (nurses, nurse practitioners, neonatologists, pediatricians and others) all work together in a cooperative fashion to achieve one goal. That goal is to provide the best care possible for these ill infants while helping their parents through what may be the most emotionally challenging time of their lives. Because of the team approach and cooperative spirit that exists in our unit, it is a pleasure to come to the hospital and put out the maximal effort that I am capable of while at my work. Even after more than a decade of working and training in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, I still find myself excited about the nature of my job. I am proud of the care that we provide to our patients and parents and hope to continue to contribute to this excellent team for many years to come.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
