Welcome to my web page!
Thank you for visiting my Webpage! I have worked at Kaiser in Northern California since 1994 and in the East Bay Kaiser since 2002. I grew up in San Francisco, attended Lowell High School and then UC Berkeley, where I earned a BA in Physiology and a Masters in Public Health. I then left the Bay Area for Medical School at the University of California, Los Angeles. After completing residency at Harbor-UCLA and Kaiser San Francisco, I returned to the Bay Area to practice medicine.
I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures and family dynamics. I’ve traveled and lived in Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines and experienced first hand, the strength and influence of women in a family. I truly believe that women are the “Backbone” of the family and make major decisions for the family. My job is to influence women to take control of her health by being educated on healthy lifestyle habits, i.e. smoking cessation, sound diet and exercise practices.
At Kaiser, I have the opportunity to practice medicine and care for my patients with the state-of-the-art tools, treatment, and facilities. I work with an excellent team of physicians and surgeons who practice evidence-based medicine and minimally invasive Gynecologic surgery. I have special interests in Operative Laparoscopy, Operative hysteroscopy and Minimally Invasive Gyn surgery such as Minilaparotomy for large fibroid uteri and Laparoscopic hysterectomies. At Kaiser East Bay, I have the opportunity to teach medical students from UCSF and Residents from our own Kaiser Oakland Residency Program. I continue to be involved in International Public Health issues as a Gynecologic Surgeon and Team Leader for the Bay Area Camarines Norte Association, a local Philippine organization that organizes annual surgical missions to underserved communities in the Philippines.
Medical Mission in the Philippines
I have recently taken the position of Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for East Bay Kaiser. In this role, I have the opportunity to assure the BEST quality and service to our patients and to create harmony among our physicians.
I spend all of my spare time with my family, my husband, Gene, and 3 daughters who are all Bay Oaks soccer players and avid Cal Berkeley football fans.
This is our Basset Hound, Lucy, with my 3 daughters. Go Bears!

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
