About Me
I began my education at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and The Peabody Institute of Music where I studied the cello. Desiring to study at one institution (as opposed to two) and to live on the West Coast, I transferred to Stanford University where I graduated with a B.S. Degree in Biological Sciences.
I obtained my Medical Degree from The University of California, San Francisco and completed an internship in Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. While in medical school I took time off and worked at the L'Hopital d' St.Louis in Paris,France in the Department of Radiology. I became fascinated with imaging of the human body and at that time decided to study Radiology.
I spent four years as a Radiology resident at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University in New York City. After residency, a fellowship in Abdominal Imaging was completed at The University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA.
I joined the faculty at U.C. Davis as an Assistant Professor of Radiology and specialized in Genitourinary tract Imaging, and Ultrasound. I have written a number of articles which have been published in various journals, and co authored a text book chapter. Desiring a change, I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2000 after seven years at U.C.Davis.
I believe in the team approach to patient care. The team involves the patient, the patient's family as well as the physicians involved with the patient's care. As a Radiologist, I have the opportunity to contribute to just about every patient's care through imaging (whether it is a simple Chest X-Ray or a complex CT scan or Ultrasound). Each study that I interprete will impact a patient's well being and therefore, each and every study receives a thorough review.
I enjoy the comprehensive team approach to health care that we practice here at Kaiser Permanente. Each patient is treated as an individual and as a team (including the patient and Kaiser staff) state of the art health care is delivered.
Sacramento is a great place for outdoor activities. I mainly enjoy tennis and downhill skiing. I also enjoy some biking, swimming and weight training. Of course, time is also spent with family.
