Welcome to My Home Page!

I am very happy you decided to visit! I hope you find my home page to be valuable. You will find a wealth of information including information about pediatric heart disease and links to important pediatric heart disease websites. Please, have a look around.

I joined The Permanente Medical Group because I agreed with its philosophy: providing excellent, but affordable care in a group practice setting. I am proud that our group is recognized as a quality leader in health care. In my practice I see my role as forging a partnership with my patients (and parents for young patients) so that they can stay healthy and have the best possible quality of life. My special interests are in fetal cardiology, pediatric echocardiography, invasive cardiology (cardiac catheterization) and the care of children and adults with congenital heart disease. I also maintain an active role at the University of California in San Francisco where I am Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and at Stanford, where I am Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics.

I practiced pediatrics in West Africa for 2 years and I regularly volunteer as a physician with a surgical team in Haiti during my vacation time.

I am married and have two children.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
