About Me

I have been with Kaiser Permanente for over 13 years and plan on working for another 20 years. My first eleven years were based out of the Vallejo/Vacaville area. Now that my children are starting grade school, I want them to be in the best school district, so we are settling into the Roseville area for a long time.

I originally was raised in Southern California but escaped to College in St. Paul, Minnesota and then to medical school in Wisconsin. Too many cold winters brought me back to Los Angeles for my residency. After graduation, my wife and I explored job opportunities in every state in the Western United States. Our unanimous number one choice was to be with Kaiser Permanente.

My Healthcare Practice

As a psychiatrist at Kaiser Permanente, I do therapy and prescribe medications for people who are struggling with interpersonal, emotional, and “thinking” problems in life. These difficulties are the most common in all of medicine and yet sometimes the hardest for people to seek help about.

My goals are to help people realize how normal these problems are, accurately find the correct problem, and then make receiving help as easy as possible.

I find it hard to think of working anywhere else besides Kaiser Permanente. I have freedom to practice medicine the best way I know how without seeking approval from regulatory services. I have a group of colleagues to consult with when I need, and large amounts of educational and technological experiences. I find psychiatry incredibly rewarding. I see so many people whose lives have been unhappy in so many ways. After starting treatment, often with medications, they return 4-6 weeks later and finally have some light in a life that has been dark for such a longtime. It’s a great feeling to see people get better and to know that I had a part in getting them there.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
