Welcome to the Folsom Department of Pediatrics and my practice. I am pleased to have this opportunity to participate in your healthcare and thought you might be interested in learning more about me and my background.

My Qualifications

I began my medical career as a school nurse, then attained my nurse practitioner degree and worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner before attending medical school. I received my bachelor and MD degrees from UCLA and completed my pediatric residency there as well. I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I spent four years practicing adolescent medicine in Santa Monica prior to moving to Northern California and joining Kaiser Permanente in 1990.

My Healthcare Practice

I think coming from a nursing background increases my ability to be more understanding and nurturing with patients. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know families and watching children grow and develop. These connections are immensely satisfying. I treat children of all ages but have a special interest in adolescents, and I am a Fellow in the Society of Adolescent Medicine. I enjoy working with teenagers and am also the medical advisor for the Adolescent Eating Disorder Clinic.

My assistant, Norma Wright, and I work together to provide your care and respond to your questions and concerns. Norma is very experienced in pediatrics, having been with Kaiser Permanente for almost 20 years, and is fluent in Spanish. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to discuss them with me or Norma.

My Outside Interests

I have a wonderful husband and two daughters. We enjoy most outdoor activities, especially water and snow skiing.
