Faces by David Bovill, MD, are aluminum stylet sculptures. This collection of faces and hanging mobiles are part of a series of realistic and abstract sculptures created using sterile discarded anesthetic endotrachial tube stylets.
Dr Bovill has worked in many media, including watercolors and oils.
Currently, he prefers creating sculptures using mallable wire, bending it into two- and three-dimensional faces. He says these sculptures: "... help me remember that I am treating people, not simply bones, joints, or x-rays."
