The Medical Social Work Staff address the psychosocial needs of Kaiser members and their families who are experiencing social, emotional, or financial problems related to illness, injury, hospitalization or outpatient treatment. Social workers provide short-term counseling for problems related to medical situations, grief or crisis counseling, hospital discharge planning, concerns regarding elder/spousal/child/dependent abuse and information and referral to resources for assistance with adoptions, Advance Directives, counseling, legal assistance, support groups, help at home, housing options, financial assistance and transportation.
