I am a native New Englander, born and raised in Beverly, Massachusetts. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. I spent the next four years in Philadelphia where I received my Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Temple University.
The sun and surf of Northern California lured me west and I spent my residency and internship years at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. My early professional years were spent in academic medicine where I chaired the Surgery Department at the Ohio College of Podiatry Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, and in private practice in the Bay Area. I joined the Kaiser Permanente group in 1998 and find working at Kaiser Permanente more rewarding in that I love the interaction with a large medical group and my colleagues. Being surrounded by all types of medical specialists at Kaiser Permanente allows me to participate in a team approach to manage the many various foot problems that patients experience. My surgical interests include limb salvage procedures, as well as reconstructive surgery. In addition, as maintaining a healthy weight is important in overall foot health, I have a special interest in sharing the options that Kaiser offers to its members in achieving their optimum weight.
When not surfing with my three daughters and husband, you can find me on a soccer field, running, or when the weather allows, snowboarding. My more sedentary interests include the Boston Red Sox, although I do have a soft spot for the Oakland A’s (that is when they are not playing the Red Sox or the Yankees).
