I grew up in Florida where I spent my free time scuba diving and was involved in lake ecology. I received my undergraduate degree in Biology from Florida State University where I was a Florida Academic Scholar. During my academic years in college I continued diving and was involved in mapping the underwater caverns that are throughout Florida.
I moved to California to pursue my DPM degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine which was located in San Francisco. After receiving my degree I accepted a residency position in Podiatric Surgery at Kaiser Santa Clara. During my training I gained an interest in reconstructive foot surgery and traumatic ankle injuries. After completing my residency I became board certified in reconstructive rear-foot and ankle surgery.
Next I pursued my career locally at the Los Gatos Foot and Ankle Center. However, missing the stimulation of being involved in a teaching hospital, I left my practice to return to Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. Since joining Kaiser Permanente I have become involved in the Residency Training Program and currently serve as the Assistant Residency Directory for the Podiatric Surgery Residency Program. I also serve as the Externship Director for the program which helps teach fourth year podiatry students from all over the country.
I spend my free time traveling with my wife and love talking about interesting parts of the world.
