- Introducing a new non-invasive approach to sterilization, available in Hayward and Fremont OB/GYN departments. Unlike the traditional laparoscopic approach, this new procedure does not require incisions on the abdomen. The Essure procedure uses a hysteroscopic approach (passing an instrument through the cervix and into the uterine cavity) to place metal micro-inserts into the fallopian tubes, thereby permanently closing the tubes.
