Thank you for choosing Kaiser Permanente for your health care. The department of Pediatrics consists of physicians, pediatric nurse practitioners, and many support staff members. We have two sites - the Mosswood Building in Oakland, located next to Mosswood Park, which is dedicated to Pediatrics & all Pediatric specialized care services. Our other location is our satellite clinic in Alameda where we have all our generalists (Internal Medicine, OB/GYN & Pediatrics) under one roof, so the whole family can get care in the same location. Our Alameda clinic is one of a kind, unique in our Kaiser system. We try to maintain a private practice type feel there.
We care for children from birth to 18 years of age. We offer a wide range of services not only for acute problems and well-child evaluations but also for a variety of more specialized care services.
Our areas of expertise include special care for teens, help with breast feeding, instruction for asthma care and in-department mental health services to name a few. We have providers with special interest in neonatology, infectious disease, learning problems, adolescent medicine and asthma. Many of our staff are bilingual with primary emphasis on providing care for our Chinese & Spanish- speaking patients. We have regularly scheduled pediatric specialty care offered in Genetics and Endocrinology.
Medical care is provided by an experienced staff composed of Pediatricians, a Service Unit Manager, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Medical Assistants, Tele-service Representatives, and Patient Service Representatives.
Patients are strongly encouraged to have a Personal Care Provider. During your next visit to our department, please ask the receptionist for the ''Choosing a Pediatrician'' brochure of our provider biographies to assist you in selecting a Pediatrician for your child or click on the link "Checklist for New Members"
If you are a new member or old, we hope this page will help you access our services & answer common questions. Please let us know if you find these sites helpful. We are constantly trying to improve & greatly value your feedback. We have blue survey cards in our clinic & periodically send letters out requesting your opinion & feedback about our service.
