On a personal note...

The last and most recent 15 years of my life have been spent in Saratoga and Carmel with my loving and devoted partner Eric. We have a Dalmatian named Jesse as well as 4 cats: Morrey, Ono, Oscar and Heidi. Together we have designed and built what we hope will be our retirement home in the Carmel Valley and spend considerable time with our neighbors, friends and family. My mom has moved to the Carmel Valley area after my dad passed away so we have the luxury of seeing her and including her in many of our weekend activities whether it be entertaining, taking Jesse for a walk on the Carmel beach or baking something. Speaking of baking here is one of my favorite cookie recipes which mom always had waiting for us when we were growing up, Olympic Cookies. They still are my favorites.

Now back to what makes me tick. I exercise every morning before going to work. Before my knees started complaining I ran every day, but now I go for a 1-2 mile swim, lift weights, ride bikes, hike along the California coast or work up a sweat in the garden. I really try to do at least 30-40 minutes a day to get that pulse moving. I get a massage once a week and admit that my therapist is encouraging me to get involved with Pilates. Anybody out there a Pilates convert? I believe in that old saying: ‘You don’t wear out, you rust out.’
