Equine Facilitated Therapy - The use of horses as a physical therapy treatment.

Equine Facilitated Therapy can either involve Hippotherapy or Therapeutic Riding.

Hippotherapy, from the Greek word for "horse", uses the movement and skills required for riding a horse as a therapeutic strategy for improving skills in patients with conditions that include cerebral palsy. For a more detailed description of Hipportherapy and what to look for in a program see What is Hippotherapy?

Therapeutic Riding is a recreational program for those with disabilities.
