My Philosophy of Care...

I believe in good patient communication and education. I try to keep my patients well informed about their skin conditions and treatment options. Through good patient-doctor relationships, my patients and I can make the right decisions regarding a treatment plan that will best fit their lifestyle. I also try to provide the best care possible in a relaxing and comfortable environment, especially during Mohs surgery or other procedures. Whether at a preop consultation visit or on the procedure day, I try to give reassurance and a clear explanation how the day will go to alleviate any stress. Being well prepared mentally and physically for the surgery or procedure will help patients alleviate anxiety. Since Mohs surgery is done under local anesthesia, patients may eat a full breakfast or lunch and bring snacks to give them nourishment during the day.

Because much of the day will be “wait time” for the tissue to be processed and read, patients should bring a good book or friend for company and comfort.
