The Pediatric Surgery Program provides specialized pediatric surgical care to infants and children with benign and malignant tumors of the abdomen, chest, and extremities. Comprehensive and compassionate care is offered in conjunction with the medical oncologist to optimize the treatment plan, to provide supportive surgical care, and to offer innovative surgical techniques in the management of tumors. These include Wilms tumor, neuroblastoma, hepatoblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, teratomas, adrenal tumors, ovarian tumors, and testicular tumors. In addition, the pediatric surgeons perform biopsies for the staging of non-surgical malignancies and perform vascular access procedures for children who will require long-term chemotherapy.
