Breastfeeding Information

Congratulations on your decision to breastfeed!

We strongly support the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the World Health Organization, and UNICEF to avoid supplementing breastfeeding with formula, especiallly in the first weeks of life, unless medically necessary.

The links below include some helpful information that may answer some questions or offer information regarding breastfeeding.

Using supplemental formula in the first weeks decreases your milk supply and may make the baby less likely to nurse well. Supplementing breastfeeding with formula may increase the risk of allergies in some infants.
