The Flea’s Sneeze
By Lynn Downey
Illustrated by Karla Firehammer
This charming book introduces a myriad of farm animals sleeping in an old tumbledown bar, and with them is a flea who is unable to sleep because he has a cold. Written in repetitive rhyme, the story continues through the night as the flea tries to let the other animals know that he needs a tissue. He finally gives out a huge sneeze scaring all the animals and spraying the hog who promptly catches a cold. The moral: always cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze.
