PATIENT INFORMATION:
1. ACTIVITY – You should go directly home to rest for the remainder of the day. Your physical activities should be limited as directed by the physician.
You should not do any strenuous activity for at least 7 days.
2. You may resume a regular diet unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
3. You may have discomfort at the site of the biopsy for several days. Usually 2 acetaminophen (Tylenol) every 4 hours is sufficient to relieve any discomfort you may experience.
REMEMBER TO
Report any of the following symptoms to your physician or nurse or go the nearest Emergency room immediately:
- Chest Pain that increases or becomes severe and/or bleeding from the aspiration site
- Sudden increase shortness of breath
- Repeated coughing
Other symptoms to observe for:
- Fever (temperature greater than 100°F) – You may take acetaminophen (brand name, Tylenol) 2 tablets every 4 hours as needed until the elevated temperature returns to 98.6º.
