Patients who are pregnant or have metal implanted in their body (pacemakers, metal plates) are not candidates for this treatment. Patients should avoid sun exposure for one week following treatment. Most patients have minimal recovery time from this procedure, and often return to work the next day. Patients undergoing more aggressive treatment are counseled about the risk of swelling and redness.
