There’s Something There!

3 bedtime classics by Mercer Mayer which include There’s Something in my Attic, There’s a Nightmare in my Closet, and There’s an Alligator Under my Bed.

Appropriate for children 2-6 years old

Mercer Mayer has written three short children’s stories which address nighttime fears. In each story the main character confronts his fear by his or herself and diffuse the fear. Each story is told simply and is easy for little children to grasp. The illustrations are funny and entertaining and Mercer Mayer has obvious been influenced by Maurice Sendak (the author of Where the Wild Things Are). My daughter’s favorite is the story of the girl who lassos her nightmare and tries to bring it to her parents to show them. These are just wonderful little stories.
