Making Your Appointment

To make an appointment, please call Kaiser Permanente's Sacramento Call Center at 614-4055. Usually they can offer you an appointment within your time frame. If there is a problem getting your appointment, please ask the call center to take a message for me. My Medical Assistant or I will call and work directly with you as needed. You may use the same call center number to cancel or reschedule an appointment that you can not keep.

Finding Kaiser Permanente's Point West Office Building

The building is located at 1650 Response Road, Sacramento, CA, 95615.

Here is a map of the immediate area. Map to the Point West Office Building

Since my office is located in the middle section of the building, the closest parking would be in the front of the building. There is additional parking on either side and in the rear of the building.

Finding My Office in the Point West Office Building

My office is located on the 3rd floor in the “B” module – the middle of the building. Usually you register at the Genetics window across from our waiting room. If this registration desk is closed, you will have to register at the Women’s Health, Obsetetrics and Gynecology window in the “C” module located at the East End of the building.

After registering at either window, please come and have a seat in the Obstetrics and Gynecology waiting room in the “B” module, closest to my office. My Medical Assistant will greet you as soon as possible and bring you into one of our exam rooms.

The Exam Room

In the exam room, Olivia will take your blood pressure and ask you some preliminary questions. We now have cloth hospital gowns for your comfort. Because of time constraints, I usually begin our discussion in the exam room. See the suggestions listed below for preparing for the office visit.

If after the exam further discussion is needed, more questions arise or issues are not resolved, I like to continue our discussion in my office.

Lab Results

Our most common test is the pap smear. It usually takes between 2-4 weeks to get the Pap smear read. If it is normal, the lab computer will automatically send you a letter. If the Pap smear is not totally normal then I will contact you either by mail or phone. The same is true for mammogram results. The results of tissue biopsies may take up to 14 days. If the biopsy is normal, I usually will drop you a note in the mail unless we have made other arrangements. If the biopsy is abnormal, I will usually contact you by phone to discuss the results and any further treatment options. The results of blood tests usually take between 1-7 days to reach me. If abnormal, I will contact you either by mail or phone. If at anytime you want to find out results or just discuss them with me, please leave me a message as outlined below.

Sending Me a Message

You can call a leave a message for me 24 hours a day. All of the calls go through Kaiser Permanente's regional call centers. The call centers are located at various centers throughout Northern California – they are not located near my office. The call center personnel have the resources to answer many of your questions at the time of the call. If they can’t and you leave a message for me, please let them know the best way for me to contact you. The message is sent by computer to Point West. The Telephone Service Team (TST) located at Point West then picks up the message. The primary member of my TST team is Dorothy. She will print and review my messages and can make you an appointment or get your message to me for disposition. After receiving your message, I will try to contact you as soon as I can. If I happen to be out of the office in Labor and Delivery, in the operating room or on vacation, Dorothy can transfer your message to one of the other physicians.
