Brain and spinal cord tumors differ greatly in their prognosis and treatment depending on what specific pathological type they are. This can usually only be determined by a biopsy of the tumor. However, some tumors have such a characteristic appearance that the MRI and CT appearance can make us reasonably certain of the tumor type based on these studies.
