Pathways to Stress Reduction
A single-session class targeting participants with somatic complaints who have not been responsive to traditional medical treatments. Participants are introduced to the concept that stress can manifest as physical symptoms and are screened for anxiety, depression, substance abuse and domestic violence. Treatment choices are discussed.
Mind-Body Medicine Program
A nine-session class that explores the biopsychosocial dimensions of health and illness. Provides participants with the opportunity to discover relationships between symptoms of stress and strain, providing tools to create greater health and harmony in their lives.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
An eight-session class aimed at reducing pain and stress-related psychological symptoms through increasing patients’ pain and stress-coping abilities. Adaptive health attitudes and behaviors are promoted, as well as a deeper awareness of one’s self and the world.
