Walk toward better health using a pedometer!
Pedometers are a motivating, easy to use tool to measure your activity level and help you even be more active! When clipped to your belt or waistband, it measures the number of steps you take as you go about your day.
- Most Americans walk between 2,000 and 5,000 steps each day (10,000 per day is considered a good general goal).
- Regular use of a pedometer can help you indentify your individual activity patterns.
- Once you know your activity level, you can set a reasonable goal that you can feel confident about reaching each day.
- Gradually, you can work toward increasing your activity level over time.
Pedometers are affordable, fun and easy to use for the whole family!
Pedometers are available for purchase in the Health Education Center.
