What support is there for caregivers?
Taking care of someone with an acute or chronic illness takes a lot of stamina and patience. Often you can't do it on your own and need to explore options to ensure that, as the caregiver, you can maintain your own physical and emotional health. There are many resources available through Kaiser Permanente that you can find out about by contacting our Social Services Department.
In addition, there are many public and private organizations that specialize in providing support for caregivers. Check the Healthfinder site which is a government sponsored resource with information on Alzheimer's disease, living with heart failure, and pain control after surgery, to name a few.
