OUR PEDIATRICS DEPARTMENT

The Department of Pediatrics at Elk Grove offers quality and personal pediatric care for all children from infancy through age eighteen. We are a group of experienced and highly trained Pediatricians and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. You can click on clinicians to meet us and see our individual web sites.

YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH PROVIDER

We request that each family choose a personal Pediatrician whom your child can see for routine appointments and urgent problems. Usually, all children in your family will have the same Pediatrician. However, if you desire, you may chose a different Pediatrician for each of your children.

If your child does not have a personal Pediatrician, please call (916) 478-5200 to request one. You may also click this link to choose a personal health provider for your child.

Your child's personal Pediatrician will see your child for well care at regular intervals. We also want to see our personal patients when they are sick and need to be seen. Sometimes, this is not possible, and your child will see an associate in our group.

GETTING AN APPOINTMENT

SPECIALTY CARE

There may be a time that your child needs to see a specialist. Your child's Doctor or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner can advise you when your child needs to see a specialist. We are pleased to have excellent specialists in Pediatrics. Click here to meet some of our Pediatric Specialists in the Sacramento area.

Some specialties do not require a referral. For an appointment in the Eye Clinic, if your child is 5 years or older, you may call (916) 478-5580 directly. For all ages, you may call (916) 688-2064 for an appointment in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

AFTER HOURS CARE (URGENT CARE CLINIC)

For weekends and holidays, the Kaiser South Sacramento Urgent Care Clinic is available only for problems that cannot wait to be seen by your child's personal Pediatrician the next clinic day. We find that most problems and questions can be best handled by your personal Pediatric Health Provider.

For after hours advice or appointments, call (916) 478-5200. For emergencies, the South Sacramento Kaiser Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day including weekends and holidays. There is no emergency care provided at the Kaiser Elk Grove Medical Offices.

HOSPITAL CARE

Should your child ever need hospital care, the Kaiser South Sacrmento Medical Center has Pediatric inpatient beds for all ages. Newborns who require treatment or close observation are cared for in our Level 2 Newborn Specialty Care Nursery. Other children and teens are cared for on the hospital ward. These areas are staffed 24 hours a day by Pediatric Nurses and Doctors. For intensive care, newborns or other pediatric patients generally are hospitalized at our Kaiser North Sacramento Hospital.
