Virtual Reality Therapy
Virtual reality is being used to help treat 3 common phobias: fear of flying, fear of heights, and fear of public speaking.
Virtual Reality Therapy helps you "face" your fear in a controlled virtual environment, one step at a time, guided by your therapist. Virtual reality therapy is safe, effective, and helpful when added to the proven psychotherapy approaches for fear or panic.
If you are interested in virtual reality therapy, call the Psychiatry Department at your local Kaiser Permanente clinic for an evaluation and to help you prepare to benefit from virtual reality therapy.
The San Jose Mercury News printed a story about this treatment on Monday 8/22/11. To read it, click here.
