OUR DEPARTMENT

Welcome to the Surgery Department. We provide comprehensive general surgery services and specialty skills in thoracic, vascular, plastic, colo-rectal, endocrine and oncologic surgery.

All surgeons in the department have the training and experience to care for a wide range of surgical problems.

HOW TO GET CARE

New or first-time patients are seen by referral from your personal physician or nurse practitioner.

Your first visit to our department will generally involve only evaluation and discussion. Your surgical procedure, if necessary, will be scheduled for a later date.

All members of our team - medical assistants, receptionists, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, and the surgeons - are dedicated to providing you with quality surgical care tailored to the specific needs of your case.

OUR COMMITMENT

  1. We will explain your diagnosis in clear, understandable terms.
  2. We will explain the options for treatment, surgical and non-surgical, and recommend a treatment in your best interest.
  3. If an operation is required, we will inform you of what to expect before, during, and after the procedure and arrange for any other needed specialty consultations.
  4. We will provide you with a direct phone number to our office staff, as well as your surgeon's e-mail address, so your questions can be easily answered.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
